  1. How do I use this service? Is there a set of instructions a layman can understand? I have no idea what a zone is or how to set one up and these instructions are just confusing me more.

  2. You can learn more about zones in this guide on setting up your site’s inventory: http://www.openx.org/docs/tutorials/how+to+organise+your+inventory.

Some additional resources include the OpenX Hosted User Guide (http://www.openx.org/docs/hosted/userguide) and the OpenX Glossary (http://www.openx.org/docs/glossary/openx-terms).

  3. Same is valid for me. You absolutely have no clue where to start if you begin using OpenX. There zero process-support. A model of the database would have been more useful than all these fancy screens.

I do not understand which parameters will have which consequenses. It is absolutely intransparent what will happen and if a campaign is already working or not. these are things which could easily be checked automatically (e.g. checking if a website has activated zones and which zones are active).

At the moment I have no idea how to use this tool in the right way. It seems to be an ad-experts-only-tool. But even for experts this must be very complicated to see screens full of parameters and not exactly knowing which parameters will have which effect.

Mmmh, will see if I continue fiddeling with it…

  4. still doesn’t work within a wholly-based flash website. Still confusing to the layman. I get it but do others? No.

    might do my own tutorials.
