In the ad exchange model, publishers exchange one or more ad spaces on their website in front of a particular eyeball for money from the highest bidder (either an ad network or advertiser).
How different ad exchanges package ad spaces and eyeballs on websites, and enable ad networks and / or advertisers to bid for those ad spaces, varies widely between different exchanges. It’s really a case of learning how each ad exchange works one by one, and thinking about what approach would maximize the value for you, the publisher.
A full exploration of the differences between each ad exchange - and how that impacts the value those exchanges provide for different kinds of publishers, is beyond the scope of a reply here - but if it’s something you’d like explored, let us know and we’ll look into putting more information up!

I think it’s better if you add some source of ads network.
Thanks You

Hi Yannick
Ad exchanges provide a bidding system.
The seller is the website owner who wants to display the most valuable advertising.
The buyers are advertisers, they bid for the right for their ads to be displayed.
So for each auction - the highest bidder’s ad is displayed on the publishers website.
cheers, Oliver

Hi Swie
That’s a good idea. Perhaps we should write a blog article about common ad networks.
Which ad networks work best for you? What makes them good?
cheers, Oliver
