Yield optimisation is going to make lots of publishers more money.
The plugin framework will make it so much easier for developers to add custom features or create plugin functionality to share with the community. Expect innovation. By the way, the framework is really really extensive.
The ad market is really exciting too. Why not display a higher value ad if it’s offered to you… it’s all upside.

Got to know about this, only today whilst I was reading the posts through my feed-reader. I had initially registered for the mailing list, but no mail dropped into my inbox though.

Great product, love the upgrade. One of the rare open source web projects that is getting better and better and better. Indispensable.
But improved stats and maintenance is the key to long-term performance of v2.8

There are right now quite a lot of bugs in this version, so I don’t recommend anyone to upgrade/install version 2.8 Especially there are a lot of plugin errors.

Man, what a horrible upgrade. Way too many bugs and very limited unhelpful support. They want you to pay $2500 a day for tech support through OpenX or hire a consultant to even get the software working properly. Beware of this upgrade. Stick with OpenAds 2.0

We use openX hosted, but I didn’t see any changes. I don’t know if it’s been upgraded yet on the hosted platform

I don’t understand why they don’t have the plugin available for download. 2.8.1 doesn’t work and that is the version you are pointed to download upon clicking the links.
