Use OpenX Hosted to manage ads on Facebook Apps

Are you a Facebook App developer? Starting today, you can manage the ads within your Facebook Apps with OpenX Hosted. Now, when you get the ad tag for a zone (on the zone’s Invocation Code tab), you will see a new type of invocation called “Facebook App Tag”. If you select this tag type, you will be given the tags necessary to make your ads appear in your Facebook Apps.

You can also target your Facebook App ads according to Age Group, Educational Attainment, Gender, and Relationship Status. All you need to do is go to your banner’s Delivery Options tab, select the desired demographic targeting criteria, and then choose which values you wish to target.

Of course, you’ll be able to use OpenX Hosted to manage the campaigns and reports for your Facebook App ads just like you would for any other type of ad. For more info on managing your Facebook App ads, click here.

  3. Hi James,

Nice feature! Will this feature be available in the OpenX 2.8.2 release as well?

    Sincerely,

    The Guru

  4. Cool feature… but instead of adding new features, how about fixing the current core functionality that is broken instead? Or by providing support to your customers? Check your support forums… answer the questions your customers ask. If you continue to ignore them, people won’t care about your new features, because no one will be using your product…

  5. Great comment, Tim.

I don’t care for new features until the old ones are not functioning properly.
I really see no point in support forum that no one is taking care of.

    Regards,

    Viktor

  6. Tim, Viktor,
Sorry to hear about that - if by broken functionality you mean the issue on hosted with contract campaigns delivery & stats issues, we are actively working on fixing these.

If there are other issues, please make sure you file a bug report as explained on the page here: http://www.openx.org/support/reporting-bugs

    Thanks

  8. matthieu,

My problem is with invocation code for floater and I have already done that. (”…If there are other issues, please make sure you file a bug report as explained on the page here: http://www.openx.org/support/reporting-bugs“).

I really appreciate all the effort that you people put in this and providing us with free software, but support is… hmm… slow.

I hope that you will improve it.

    Regards,

    Viktor

  9. This is a nice feature. Facebook apps have really created a new type of platform that allow for social interaction. The users really enjoy using new apps that can help customize their profiles.
