To make it easier to use the OpenX ad server, we are developing OpenX plugins for popular content management systems. We hope these plugins will help you get the most out of OpenX by saving you time, helping you deliver more relevant ads and, ultimately, making more money from online advertising.
Today we’ve released three working prototypes for the most popular content management systems in use by the OpenX community.
OpenX module for Joomla!
OpenX plugin for WordPress
OpenX module for Drupal
These ‘phase one’ prototypes have been designed with simplicity in mind, but they already answer the most common integration request by making it easier to integrate ad tags into your website templates using the native content management system functionality.
With time, and your help, we expect these plugins to develop into feature rich integration tools. You can help by giving your feedback or getting involved in the development of these plugins.

Have your say: How will tighter integration between your ad server and content management system help you?

On a similar note for drupal, it seems that someone has taken the initiative to do more than just a plugin for publishing ads but for managing OX as well. Let’s hope this means a step towards self-service ads:

Hi Adrian
I think that’s Massa’s focus. We’re in touch… with luck we can work together as it feels like there’s a lot of overlap in our work.
I’ll ping him a link to this for his comments.
cheers, Oliver

Guys,
im creating a module for Drupal that will allow manage OpenX server from Drupal site. Users and admins will be able to create/update/delete Advertisers, Campaigns and Banners. My ultimate goal is to integrate with another module that i maintain: e-Commerce. Users will be able to buy Ad space and we might be more like Google
NOTE: Its NOT focused on displaying the Ads, there is another module dedicated to it.
I believe that in a week the first version will be released. I will comment here then, but you might follow the http://drupal.org/project/openx_manager too.
regards,
massa

It would´t perhaps be possible to make the module work also on older versions of joomla?

Good to know. I will have a close look at OpenX plugin for WordPress and Drupal and test it, because another solution I found is bad.

Interesting. We have created some modules for Joomla with an admin interface in which it is possible to add the zone code. It is possible to have several modules and show ads with different size’s in different module positions.
It is also possible to add the modules to the content in Joomla 1.5 and show ads in the content. It is just to add a plugin tag in the content where you want your ads to show up.
We are still building our website and will publish information and make the files downloadable as soon as possible.

I forgot. We also have modules for Joomla 1.0.x that are in use.
