Pomóż nam nauczyć Openads języka polskiego

We’re making good progress with our internationalisation work but we still don’t have any volunteers to translate Openads into Polish.

Thanks to the support of the Openads Community, we expect to have updated translations for 5 key languages in the first public beta of the Openads 2.5. We know Openads is popular in Poland and we’d love to have updated translation files for Polish too.

If you’re a native Polish speaker and would like to help then please get in contact and tell us a little about yourself.

Finally, I’d like to say a quick thanks to those involved in the current round of translations - you’re doing an excellent job guys!

Scheduled Forum Outage (now Monday)

by simon.bailey on September 20th, 2007

The forum will be offline for an hour early Thursday Monday morning (GMT) while we perform some upgrade work.

The upgrade changes the login and registration process. You’ll see the new login screen when you next log into the forum but your username and password have not changed.

The reason for the upgrade is to move the forum login and registration process to a new server.

We’ll keep the outage short and make sure we get the Openads Community Forum up and running as quickly as possible.

While you’re waiting you might like to sign up to help with the Openads 2.5 beta testing program.

Update: We’re rescheduling the upgrade to Monday morning due to issues raised in our final testing.

Would you like to help with the next round of beta testing?

The new stable release of Openads is out, development work on new features has already started and it’s time to start thinking about the next round of beta testing. We want your help with the Openads 2.5 beta testing program.

The new development branch will include a variety of new features including delivery engine enhancements, internationalisation support, an integrated dashboard, a Web Services API and wider database compatibility.

In the last beta testing cycle the beta testers were a great help. They deserve a large portion of the credit for the new stable release of Openads for their feedback and help resolving bugs. Thanks guys!

We’d like to use the same beta process this time starting with small groups of private beta testers and expanding to public beta releases where the whole community can get involved.

Would you like to help with the next beta testing cycle? Please register your interest here.

What are people saying about the new Openads adserver?

The new Openads release is getting some great coverage online. The feedback has been really positive, thanks to everyone who’s blogged about us or recommended Openads.

Here’s a taste of what people are saying…

Shawn Collins from the Affiliate Marketing Blog
I’m frequently asked by fellow affiliates about how to manage all of the banners for different affiliate programs. My answer always comes down to one solution - get Openads.

PaymentBlogger
[Openads has] been in beta for a few months and we have covered its predecessor a week or so ago. The good news, 2.4 is packed with loads of great features [...] Of particular interest at least for me is ‘Agency Level Management Login’ having scalable permissions for users is great if you are running advertisements on multiple blogs and sites for many clients.

Andy Beard - Niche Marketing
[Openads] allows you to manage your advertising from one central location, avoid banner blindness and serve different adverts to different visitors. [...] Whilst you might feel it is overkill for a single blog, if you configure a blog to use Openads extensively, you have more control, and a lot less plugins and custom code.

We’d love to see some detailed reviews we can feature too. Please tell us if you write or come across any in your feed reader.

We’ve got lots more planned this year. Stay tuned, we’ll be announcing the new beta program including the next round of features very soon.

CNET: OpenAds, the cure for the common online advertising cold

Matt Asay from CNET met with Scott to talk about Openads. On his CNET Blog, The Open Road, he gives his thoughts on why Openads is different and how it might affect the online advertising industry.

It’s an interesting article and we’d love to hear what you think.

We would like to apologise in advance for our founder Scott’s shirt… Openads might be the cure for the common online advertising cold but we still have a way to go before we can give geeks fashion sense.
